about the grape

the grape is back

The Grape, formerly known as The Grape Room, Grape Street, and The Grape Street Pub, has been a Manayunk nightlife staple for decades. Passing through several iterations over the years, The Grape has always stood for a few things, regardless of who held ownership: music comes first and foremost, community is the heart of creativity, and good times should be affordable to all.

This iteration, formally known as The Grape, was the brainchild of 3 ex-employees of the former Grape Room - united with the ideals to not change much about the ambiance and operations of Manayunk’s beloved dive bar/music venue, but to make it safer, cleaner, and maximize it to its full potential. Through trial and error, a lot of favors, and giving it a good old-fashioned college try, a once dream became reality.

The Grape itself is a bi-level venue located at 105 Grape Street in Manayunk, between the bustling Main Street and the cobblestones and shade of Cresson Street, in a building originally built just before the turn of the twentieth century. Inside, a horseshoe bar welcomes you to the main room, with a dance floor and viewing area in front of the Grape’s unique pentagonal stage.

Upstairs (yes, there is an upstairs) you can find a billiards table ($1 in quarters/game), a TouchTunes juke box, bar-style seating, and an entire second service bar & lounge area just three steps away (equipped with a soundsystem for small-scale shows and performances).
